- Sunday Morning Gathering:
Sunday morning is a community event, joining together the experiences of this faith community, the joys and sufferings, the hardships and light-heartedness, the disappointments and successes which have occurred to us in the world during the week just past. In gathering we acknowledge the God who created and sustain us, the need we have for each other, and the life giving presence of the Spirit in the word, our song and praise, and the thanksgiving.
- Sunday Morning Service:
The time spent in worship around the Word and the Sacraments takes its forms from our Lutheran heritage of liturgy, interactive dialogue between preacher and congregation, creative musical offerings with active participation from inspired participants, free prayer both collective and personal, corporate confession and personal testimony. The radical divine invitation to come into the presence of God is celebrated and hosted by those who once lived in darkness but now have seen a great light.
.
- Wednesday Mission Nights:
Mission Night exists only and exclusively for the empowerment of God’s mission in the world. This informal gathering of sometimes hungry, gifted, lonely, industrious, searching, no nonsense, broken, marginalized, insightful people, share a light meal, examine matters of serious personal and collective importance related to the world in which we live, taste for a moment the life giving presence of God’s love, and then are re-inserted into a world to which God’s has attached himself in reconciliation and love.
.
- Prayers on Request:
God promises to be present with those who call on his name, who gather in name of Jesus Christ, and we have tasted and known the power of that presence especially in prayer, when our hearts and minds are attuned and open to the life-giving power. Healing, comfort, inspiration, resolve, confidence, intervention – all signs of God’s mission and intent in the world, are present to all especially those who participate and awake to such evidences of God’s design. Prayer is one of the greatest tools of God’s mission.
.
- Pastoral Guidance:
As a means of safeguarding the treasures of God’s mission in the world, its tools and application, from the standpoint of the human enterprise (God surely is able to protect his own interests), pastors have been vested with the role of guidance and advocacy. Such a role provides no primacy or special access to God’s ways, only an obligation to lift up the name of God among the people who gathered to be sent out by his Spirit. The pastor is available whenever and wherever there is an expressed request, and sometimes if by divine intervention, by accident.
